Question - Thank you for your response. However that did not clear up the problem. In the body of my first question you will find that I had already tried that solution, and if fact that is how I re-filled the system. If you have any other ideas I would greatly appreciate them. Since my first question I have taken the auto to two different professionals and they have not been able to determine the cause. If you do not have any more suggestions then I guess I will have to try General Motors and their chain of dealers, which, in my experience, has been of little help and very expensive.

My 1995 Buick Roadmaster has no heat since I changed the coolant. There were no problems with the heat or the electronic climate control before the fresh coolant was put in. I did not remove or disturb any of the components of the system. I opened the radiator plug and one hose at the thermostat to drain the old coolant and refilled with clear water and run the engine to normal operating temperture to flush the system. I left the raditor drain cracked opened and the air bleeder at the thermostat cracked open when refilling with fresh coolant. I refilled with engine running and heat set to manual at the highest temp level. After I did this I have no heat at any setting. I tried loosening the hoses with engine running to rid the system of any air locks. I tried back flushing the heater core. I removed the thermostat and replaced it. The odd thing is that when the engine is at operating temp I can shut the engine off for a minute and when I restart the engine the heat is warm for about 30 seconds then I lose all heat again.

Answer
ok milton. check while eng is at norm temp, feel both heater hoses are they both hot or one hot one warm??if both are hot move on if one is hot bad heater core.if they are ok then get ubder the dash  with car running listen very careful for a hissing noise vacum leak.change the temp selector while at the same timewatching the blend doors under the dash in the heater box.is the door closeing or opening.put selector on high heat try to manually move the door.if this door does not open you will get no heat out of it.good luck billymac thanks for the rateing
