Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: not starting, 1988 olds cutlass, olds cutlass

well i have talked to u before so ....im working on a 1988 olds cutlass 2.5 i have replaced the fuel pump and the relays and the plugs and the things the plug wire plug to and the wires and still the car will not start....could u plz may be tell me what is going on here...im thinking the control mod....hope u can help me out....oh and i have replaced the igniton and plugs too...thanx chris

hi again chris.well i can,t tell from your email if you are saying you replaced the ignition module or the ignition.if you haven,t changed the ignition module then yes you should.you have to figure out why it won,t start.it is either missing fuel or fire.before we can find out what is wrong we have to know which of the two it does not have.otherwise you can spend hundreds replaceing parts find this out and let me know.for fire pull a spark plug wire and put an old plug in the wire and lay it on the engine.and crank the engine see if there is spark.if yes elec system is ok.  FUEL,,,do you here the pump run for three seconds when you turn the key on?? if yes fuel pump is working.if no check fuses,and also fusible links at the starter.all wireing near the batterry. let me know chris   billymac
