Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 89 Riviera Ignition, body control module, moment of your time

Hey Billy,
I've got an 89 Buick Riv.  My boyfried left the car in gear when he shut if off and when he came back to start it, the key wont turn all the way to "Crank"  it turns to all positions but.  We checked and replaced the ignition tumbler but no dice.  Now we think we need to replace the ignition switch. I've got the part, but have no clue where to start. The top of the steering wheel is already dismantled.  PLEASE HELP, I LOVE THIS CAR!  Oh yeah, My touch display screen goes on and off, but the touch still works if its not lit.  What do you think the prob is?

hi nicole.the switch is actually located on top of the steering coloumn.there will be 4 bolts on bottom of coloumn.remove these steering coloumn will drop down to seat.you will see the switch there ..as far as the screen i have owned a few of these cars and i also loved them and my screen done the same thing.it is a problem in the bcm.body control module.the only repair is replace ment very expensive ..good luck  please take a moment of your time to rate my help ty billymac
