Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: serpentine belt problem, quad 4 engine, olds achieva

Question
I have a 1993 Olds Achieva with a single cam 2.3L Quad 4 engine with A/C. The problem I am having is that the serpentine belt broke, and when installing a new one I cannot get the tension cam to move so that I have enough slack to get the belt on completely. I have tried breaker bar, pulling up on the nut in the center of the cam. Currently I am spraying with PB hopin for the best. Looking for any other suggestions or help. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Chuck,
Check the diagram, and make sure you are routing it correctly,
and make sure you are pulling the tensioner in the correct direction.
I have seen some that can be routed wrong, and all the pulleys seem correct, but it is just too short, and turns out, routed wrong....but real close.
