Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Left front end noise, wheel bearings, regencey

Question
When I make a left turn I hear a noise the same as when dust is in the brakes. It happens at high and low speeds. When I apply brakes it gets worse.
1987 Olds Regencey 98. Rear brakes completely redone 1 year ago. Front Brakes and struts replaced 2 years ago.

Answer
Hi Karen,
Obviously, you have removed the wheels and checked the brakes to see if the lining slipped off one of the pads.
While having it up, check the wheel bearings.
Then, there is another thing that will do it...especially if you are occasionally on a gravel road. If a small rock, or piece of gravel flips up, and falls between the brake rotor and the metal dust shield, it will squeel like metal-on-metal.
Watch for a little stone to fall out as you work on it, and see if the stone has a flat polished side.
