Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Starting problem 1992 Olds Silhouette, 3800 engine, van dyke

Question
I have a 1992 Olds Silhouette with a 3800 engine that intermittently will crank but not start.  The ALDL blinks the check engine light a code 17 which is not listed in the manual.  The Chevrolet dealer's computer shows no fault.  While cranking without a start there is no spark.  I wanted to see an electrical diagram for the spark - coil - plug circuit for both run and start mode, but it isn't in the 38035 Manual.  The car when started will run and not fail until it is turned off and later another start is attempted. At that time it might or might not start.  How can I get the additional electrical diagrams?

Answer
I find code 17, PCM did not detect any spark reference pulses within 240 fuel control reference pulses (80 crank revolutions) while engine was running below 1200 RPM.
