I bought a '94 Buick Regal. Rear power window wasn't working. I've removed it, cleaned it out, and reinstalled exactly as origional (I think!). Runs great - BUT - now when I push close switch it opens and visa versa. What have I done wrong? Everything is plug and play.
Answer -
Hi Paul,
Someone else has probably worked on the problem, and may have connected a switch backwards.
The switches complete connections of both the hot, and ground wires, and reversing them is how it changes direction.
That means both the door switch, and the drivers switch need to be checked.
The rear switch would probably be the easiest to accidentally get in backwards.
Good luck,
Van

Thank you Van,
Would it be possible to think that the pervious owner actually switched thr wires (2) around in the harness that plugs into the motor? I tried a rear switch off a junker and had the same result.
Thanx
Paul

Answer
That is entirely possible, although when you were there, you could have checked the color code match.
If front and rear switches both operate it backwards, switching the wires at the motor connector would make it operate correctly, even if that isn't where they were switched.
