Pontiac Repair: lost of power

Question
I have a 2004 Pontiac. Grand Prix Gtp. In the last 6 months traveling at 75 mph on the freeway I tried to speed up & the car stalled. the service light said [Engine running at reduced speed] I pulled over turned the ignition off then turned it back on. It then returned to normal. This has happened twice.

Answer
Hi lewis.

when the SES lamp came on did it stay on when the engine started back up or did it just come on to indicate a stall? if the light stayed on it stored a code. stop by one of the big box auto parts stores and have the car scanned for codes (they do it for free) and see what is stored and we can go from there there are to many possibilities as to what is cauing this issue and the fact that it's intermittent makes it even more difficult to find.
