Pontiac Repair: Pontiac 2007 go gt dies while driving

My Pontiac g 6 gt dies while I'm driving down the road.. I have been told my the machainc when he hooks it up to the computer there is no cold coming up.. I've also been told this is happening a lot to my type of car... what could be wrong and how can I fix it fast.

I'll assume this is a V6 engine being that it's a GT? when it dies what happens? is it like someone turns the key off or does it spit sputter then dye. It makes a difference as to what could be wrong with it. I find it hard to believe there are no codes at all in this car. stalling issues are not common on that car as all. dues it die coming to a stop or cruising down the road at a steady speed? the more info you give me the more I can "try to help"
