Pontiac Repair: Pontiac Torrent rear wiper fail, outer case, rear glass

The rear wiper on my 2009 Torrent started acting up by wiping very slowly, then only wiping half way, now the wiper doesn't move at all but you can hear the wiper motor running on and on - I have had to pull the fuse for the wiper to get it to stop.  It runs on and on even when the car motor is off.

Hi Stacey:

it needs a new rear wiper motor. pretty common issue on those. the outer case of the motor corrodes and then it expands from the corrosion and it tightens up the saft in the motor and then eventaully the motor strips off inside and then it will not park/shut off. Same thing happens to them in the wintertime if someone turns on the rear wiper with a heavy wet now build up on the rear glass the motor strips out and then will not shut off. good luck :-)
