Pontiac Repair: wiring for choke on carburator, manual access, oil pressure

Question
i want to know wehe the power come from for the choke on the caburator on a firebird esprit 1980 whit a 3.8l v6

Answer
Hi there:

Well I don'tt have service manual access to car that are that old, sorry. I can tell you that a lot of them get power from the oil pressure switch I cab't tell you for sure if that is how it works on this car or not. You can always use a power feed from The iginion switch if all else fails. find a fuse that only has power on it when the key is "on" and run a wire for that to the choke. Make sure you run it from the load side of the fuse so if for some reason it short out the fuse blosw and doesn't melt your wire. good luck :-}
