Pontiac Repair: 2002 Grand Prix cig lighter, cigar outlet, blown fuse

Question
QUESTION: I have a 99 and a 2002 Grand Prix that I have blown the fuses to the lighter in both cars. I was not able to find the fuse for the lighter in either car. The fuse lid didn't have a cig or accessory fuse listed. I then check every fuse in both cars still could not find a blown fuse. I can't fiqure out how to get to the lighter inside the plastic drawer with out breaking it. Going on vacation like to use my gps.

ANSWER: Hi Stan:

depening on which power outlet or cigar lighter you have that is dead the fuse is either "cigar" or "Aux power" labeled in the Insterment panel fuse box which is behind the glove box in that fuse panel there is alos one under the hood but the one your looking for is inside the car.

QUESTION: Both cars have the fuse box under the hood. I pulled all fuses from the box and none were blown. The cigar outlet is in a plastic drawer below the radio, I tried to remove the drawer to replace the outlet but I could not. Is there a way to remove the drawer without breaking it?

Answer
Yes, the fues box for the inside is where that fuse is opne the glove box and there is an access door open that door and look at the back of the door there is a road map for the fuses in that box it will be labled cigar. If it's the one under radio it is indeed the one labeld "cigar"
