Pontiac Repair: reguarding air lines connecting to the air shocks, pontiac montana, retaining clip

Question
my husband replaced the air shocks on my 2002 pontiac montana awd this weekend and he is having a hard time reconnecting the air lines back on to the new shocks so that they will inflate with air do you have any suggestions for him to get this job finished thank you.

Answer
Hi Kathy:

it's a pretty straight forward easy job unless you are putting after market non GM shocks back on this van. The issue may be that the connetor on the fatermarket van is different the the original equipment shocks and the line will not connect. The end on the lines are a quick connect with a stainless steel retaining clip as long as the clip is sittin on the end corectly they should attach. the other issue may be if the old shocks were rotted out that part of the connetor remained on the old shouck and it's making it so the line will not connect??? With out seeing it I can't tell you exactly what the issue is. I would take a look at tthe old shock up to the new one and make sure the male end look the same and make sure there is not parts of the connetor left on the old shocks. Good luck :-)
