Pontiac Repair: anti theft, pontiac montana, steering column

hi i have 2001 Pontiac Montana and the anti theft came on ,,, how to i turn it off?

Hey Zach:

when that light comes on it means there is an issue with the theft system in the van. you can't just turn the light off ther fault need to be fixed. the next step is the van will not start. the ignition key has a chip in it and there is a module in the steering column that reads the chip in the key and if for so mreason it doesn't recognized the chip in the key the light will come on. try the second key and see if the light is still on if not the issue is just the key if the lamp is still on there is something more serious going on.
