Answer
Hi Vincent:

have you put a mechanical guage on this to verify what oil pressure it may or may not have? That would be the first step. Those engines have a very stagrange oiling system and always have where the pumi is in the front timing cover. if the timing cover is worn out a new pump isn't going to help much. Also when you put an oil pump on of of these need to be primed. You can do that whi wheel bearing grease. pack the gears full of grease and then put the plate back on over the gears. Sadly these engine had uppder engine issues where if ther were lacking oil pressure for any period of time the cam shaft bearing wear out and they loose oil pressure in the upper 1/2 of the engine but the lower bearing can wear out as well. It depends on how far you want to start diffing into this. with out seeing it I can't tell you what the issue may be those are just guesees. Good luck :-}
