Pontiac Repair: Pontiac G6 Brake Question, pontiac g6, body control module

Question
I have a Pontiac 2008 G6, I recently had the brakes changed. A couple of days later I noticed the brake light would come and stay on but after applying the brakes the light would go off but would come right back on after taking foot off the brake. Upon doing a little research I am to understand that the brakes need to be calibrated and this can only be done with a GM scan tech tool, is this correct. If I take it to a local mechanic that has this tool would the mechanic need to do any other mechanical work to the brakes other than what he can do with the scan tool. If so can you tell me what else he might have to do and is there anyway you could give me just a ballpark figure on what it might cost for calibration or any other work to correct this problem. Just trying to learn what I need to do to educate myself with this issue. Thanks so much.

Answer
Hey jay:

The only calibarting you would ever need to do with the brakes is for the brake pedal position sensor. And that is only after that senor is replaced or the body control module is replace and you did neither so you don't have to do that. I'll assume you are talking about the red brake light not the amber ABS? the only reason the red lamp will go on by it's self would be if it's low on fluid or the parking brake is applied. no other reason. make sure the fluis is full if it's not you have a leak some where. possible after you did brakes now you have a caliper that is starting to leak???? that is where I would start looking good luck :)
