Pontiac Repair: heater coming on when the car is off, gm service manuals, c hase

97 Pontiac Bonneville SSI

The heater keeps coming on when the car is turned off. This is draining the battery. If I remove the fuse for the heater will this stop this problem for now.

I read this car has three fuse boxes do you know which one has the one for the heater?

this car may have had an afetr blow module put in it in order to dry out the a/c hase to an oder concern. if that were the case that module may have gone bad. it will come on in warm damp condions but it should turn off if not that the issue. if it didn't have that put on being that this has auto HVAC control it could be the control modukle in the dash or the blower motor control motor that is bad. your going to have to take it to someone that has access to gm service manuals. if it happens every key off it should be easy to find out what the issue is eithet the blower control module is turning on by it's self and running the fan or the control head in the dash is commanding the fan on. it needs to be caught in the act to find out for sure what the issue is.
