Pontiac Repair: Turn Signals Failing, turn signal flasher, pontiac sunfire

My turn signals in my 2001 Pontiac Sunfire, turn on for a second and then turn off, sometimes they won't even turn on. Other times they turn on and stay on while I'm siting at a stop light and then turn off a couple seconds later. How do I fix this problem?

Hi Toben:

sounds like you have a bad turn signal flasher element. It's under the dash by the steering column. ther are 2 of then under there 1 is for the t/s and one is for the 4 Ways. turn the turn siganls on and if they do decide to flash listen for "clicking" to make sure you chnage the correct one. good luck :-}
