Pontiac Repair: Manifold gasket, head gasket failure, intake manifold gasket

Question
I saw your response earlier to someone asking about why the temperature gauge might spike on a 98' transport and I was wondering if this could be caused by air bubbles in the coolant line? Also What is involved in changing a manifold gasket on a 98' transport?

-Thank you

Answer
Hi there:
It is a big job and not a do it your selfer job. "usually" what happens is the intake manifold gasket fails the coolan level is low and people keep driving them until the engine over heats once that happens it causes engine damage in the line of head gasket failure or cracked cylinder head. if you catch it soon enough you can get away with just chnaging the manifold gasket and your good to go. Good luck :)
