QUESTION: back in 3/14/2008 there was a post on a 97 bonneville that a gave a lot of helpful info on I'm having the same problems and not finding any fix is there any more deeper thoughts or things to look at

QUESTION: ok thanks with the key off the outside temp still shows on the heater control, the blower turns on and off with whatever setten it feels like the HUD read out turns on and off the fuil pump will come on this is with the key off it does not mater if the door is open or closed now when you open the door after shuting the key off the radio and the power windows do shut off like thay should

ANSWER: That gives me a bit more to go off. when all this is happening do the power windows work? Sounds like a power or ground issue. More so a ground then anything else. there is a MAJOR ground splice pack that is under the carpet and sill plate area on on l/f door take the pill plate off and pull the carpet back and look for the ground splice pack they are all black wores and they are taped to the engine harness in a long plactic splice pack see if there is corrosion in that splice pack if ther is that is the root to the evil here. clean all the connections in that ground pack and if the carpet padding is wet then you need to look for a water leak. if it's just corroded then it may be just due to the elements being tracked in in the winter time. that is where I would start to look. anyother place to look is at the battery cables that car has 2 (+) cables and the junction between the 2 cables tends to corrode make sure ther connection between the 2 cables is clean and the cables are tight both (+) and (-) cables..

QUESTION: Ok I found the grounds and they are all looked good I went and found one on the P side and one on the D side they looked good but cleaned them and put some die electric grease on them same with the one by the battery and both + and - on the battery. ran a jumper wire from the - to both the grounds under the carpet no change. you asked if the windows work right yes they do when you shut the key off with the doors closed they work and when the door open they stop and they stop when the timer shuts off. when the car is running sometimes the traction control is off and the lamp mounter keeps coming up with deferent lamp issues but all the lights are fine thanks for the help so far hopefully you have more ideas

okay I would do this next get the car scanned for codes. and see what codes come up in the different modules maybe there is a common thread to any codes that are stored. I really don't know what all these issues you are having have in common. The reason I asked about the windows was usually when there is an issue with the ground splice pack the windows cut out and will not work. see what codes are stored and we can approach it from that angle.
