Pontiac Repair: battery disconect, grand prix gtp, pontiac grand prix gtp

Question
I just replaced the cuppler on the supercharger on my 97 pontiac grand prix gtp 3800 supercharged. I had to disconect the battery, every since i disconnected the battery my radio wont work and the security light on the radio blinks is there a code or a procedure I need to do to get the factory radio back on.   Also when I hit the brakes at a slow speed the abs goes off and says low traction, on dry pavement.

thanks,

Greg Brown

Answer
Hey Greg:

The radio part if you don't have the secuirty code EG: your the second or 3'rd owner of the car I can't help you there is a long drawn out proceedure to unlock the radio wich entails calling Delco to get the back up code for the radio to unlock it. It has to be done an a dealer or at an ac delco repair center.
The ABS going off is due to a wheel speed sensor dropping out at low speeds as the trac off and ABS lamp come on? if so then there should be a code(S) stored in the brake control module. stop by one of the BIG Box auto parts store and have them scan for codes and see what is stored. that way you know which wheel sneor is dropping out. Usually it's a front sensor that goes bad which is part of the wheel bearing assembly. That or the jumper harness that goes from the body to the sensor. those are pretty common as well. good luck :-}
