Pontiac Repair: engine died, 6 cylinders, timing chain

the engine in my 2001 3.8l pontiac stalled and wont restart.It turns over but sounds rough.All fluids good ,no codes stored in computer and has fuel pressure. Any advice?

Does it have spark on all 6 cylinders? if so then next thing to check is compression all 6 cyliners should have approx the same amount somewhere between 130-150 PSI would would venture to say. if not then you need to look for a mechanical issue like a timing chain issue. that is where I wouls start looking.
