Pontiac Repair: 1995 grand prix wont start, pontiac grand prix, lock cylinder

i have a 1995 Pontiac grand prix 3.1. i go to start it and everything but the engine itself comes on? i mean not a sound from the engine. please help!!!!

That car is equipped with a pass key system there is a black chip in the key. did you try the second ignition key?  try to crank the car with the transmission in netutral as well.if that will not crank the car either there is an issue with the pass-key system in the car or the starter motor is bad. if you have not had any issues at all leading up to this I would tend to lean more towards the pass key system. the wires for the ignition lock cylinder break off in the steering column. that is a very common issue. or again it could just be a bad starter motor. good luck :-}
