Pontiac Repair: 1995 Pontiac Bonneville 3.8, pontiac bonneville, battery cables

Thnk you for your 1st response, hwvr i tried a new grnd and no luck. here is situation: batt. voltage 12.6, alt. good, batt. conn. and cables good. voltage @ alt. and starter rdg 12.6, grnds @ engine block and firewall good, all fuses under dash and hood chcked w/ meter and appr good. the interior lights work, front pwr wndws wrk, hd lghts wrk, blinkers, dash lights and horn all wrk. radio, dr chime, rear pwr wndws do not. when i turn the key to start the car everything goes dead, nothing from starter battery, engine, interior lights go out. relay? short?

Answer
I still maintain that you have a bad connecton somehere when you put the increased load for trying to start the car the bad connection turns into an open connection. either that or you have a VERY VERY bad battery. I think I mentioned that the car has 2 (=) cables and you could have a bad connection between the battery cables and the battery.
