Pontiac Repair: sunfire wiring, squirt bottle, head lamps

Question
I have a 2000 sunfire 2.2 and i am having issues with my driverside headlight which only lights up half way, the blinkers stop working after the car gets hot and i have no idea what wires to look at under the hood. When i first turn the car on and put it into drive the dash beeps three times and a yellow light flashes 3 times. I recently installed an aftermarket radio and spliced the wires which i didnt know you werent supposed to do in these cars, does that have anything to do with it? Any help is appreciated..Thanks

Answer
Hi heather:

The forward lamp harness more then likley is bad on this car. there are splices in the front harness that are exposed to the elemnets and over time the wires corrode for the head lamps and the hi/lo or drl's do not work then. the splices are under the hood and behind the washer squirt bottle. But I can tell you this if you try to fix them the problem will return quickly.  so I would get a whole new lamp harness for this if you plan on keeping the car. The radio should not have anything to do with it. as for the turn signal It could be just a flasher module that is bad. not related to the headlamp/drl issue. when the turn siganls quit try the 4 ways and see if all 4 corners of the car the lamps work they should if so the falsher is bad. good luck :)
