Pontiac Repair: need help for my pontiac, pontiac trans sport, head lamps

I have a 1993 Pontiac Trans Sport 3.8L V6 MY problem ;I tried to change the spark plugs I disconnect the battery then I change the oil filter and candles, but when I try to start the car attempts to start then it stops,could you please help me to solve this problem:

Hi there:

when it stops cranking what else happens? turn the head lamps on and crank the van over does the lamps cut out? if so then you have a bad connection on one of the cables or for some reason the battery is real weak. I assume it stops cranking you didn't make it real clear as to eactly what is going on.
