Pontiac Repair: rear caliper, rear caliper, pontiac grand prix

Sir. How do i remove the parking brake from the caliper? the caliper is no good but i can not figure out how to remove the parking break.... it is a 2006 pontiac grand prix smaller litre V6

Hi Kirk:

you ned to loosten the aduster on the cable. there is a threaded rod on the one cable with a nut on it where the 2 rear cables attach to the front cable. loosen the nut to take the tension off the cable. then you need to pull the cable back on the arm at the caliper and then depress the retainers that hold the cable on to the caliper then pull the cable out of the bracket on the claiper.
