I am about to have my ignition coil replaced by a mechanic for the 3rd time in 4 months. (thank God for 90 day warranties). Am wondering if my car is causing them to fail or if the after market part from the parts store isn't going to work out.

I don't like aftermarket electrical parts for just such a reason. they are poor quality and that is why the price is less. You get what you pay for. enough on that. coild are pretty common on these cars but not multiple times. I would look at possably a bad ignition module or a bad "boot" between the coils and the spark plugs. I would also make sure it has ONLY AC DELCO plug in it that are gapped correctly. absoulutly no aftermarket spark plugs! Good luck :)
