Question
I have a 2004 Sunfire... I just bought it 2 weeks ago with 4100 miles, and its looks like its in great conditon. My question is that I have taking the car in about three times for the same issue, the car is hesitating to start, the lights were the speedometer is are going off light xmas lights. what should I do. the dealership claims to fix the issue but I wind up taking it back.

Answer
Hi there:

well depending on what codes are setting in the car is what direction this needs to go. if all the warning lamps on the dash are blinking there is some sort of a communication issue between the onboard control modules. either ther is a short in the communication data line or one of the modules is going bad and causing the data line to go down. one or more of the modules has to have set some history codes in it's memory so depending on what modules have what codes is where the issue needs to be looked at. It's not an easy black and white answer sorry. one thing I have seen on these cars is if there is a watre leak anywhere in the car the Air bag module is usually the culprit. the module is under the carpet on the right side of the car and water collect in the module and this is the ty of issue you get as an end resut of water in the module.
