shifter button wont engage or sometimes wont lock when in park and key wont come out of igniton.

Hi renee:

the bitton it's self is jammed up on the handle or you can push the button in? it could be just an issue with the handle it's self or it;'s in the shifter it's self. without seeing it I can't tell you for sure which part is bad it's one or the other. you can take the hadle off the top of the shifter and then try to push down on the plunder the extends up though the middle of the shifter shaft. if the plunger moves freely it's the handle that is the issue if not the shifter is more then likley to blame or a broken wire going to the switch in the bottom of the shifter. good luck :)
