Pontiac Repair: horn dont work, pontiac grand am, steering wheel

i have a 1997 pontiac grand am, i let my son in law change the ignition switch, and now the horn does not work

well it one of to things. Either he forgot to attach the hor wire to the steering column or the cancel can is damaged and that is why the hor doesn't work. The cancel can is what the horn wire attaches to and keeps the horn ckt in constant contact while the steering wheel is turned. either way at least the air bag module has to come back off the steering wheel to see what the deal is.
