Pontiac Repair: computer???, pontiac sunfire gt, 2000 pontiac sunfire gt

Question
hey there i have a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire GT when my fuel gets low my traction control light comes on and when it is on my transmission shifts hard and jumps into gears (its an automatic) also during when this is happening my check engine light comes on and the code says pedal position sensor circuit voltage low. is this a problem with my computer or do i have multiple thing wrong?

Answer
Hi Daryl:

All these things could be tied to each other  I'm not sure what the low fuel level would have to do with it but for sure the TP sensor will cause a hard/harsh shift. I would take a look at the wiring up by the radiator though first. I can't off the top of my head remember which year it was but there is a sesnor for the A/C system on the HI side line the wire harness rubs on the body and it will cuae aother sensors to set codes as well. Don't just assume the TP sensor is bad. Take a look there first it's on the passenger side of the car. good luck :)
