Pontiac Repair: 2003 Pontiac Montana low beam headlights, daytime running lights, lamp bulbs

Question
Hi.  I have a problem with my low beam lights.  They don't work.  My high beams work, and the low beams quit at the same time, so I don't think it is a bulb.
Could it be a problem with the daytime running lights?
How do I fix it?  How do I check to see if that is the problem?  Your help would really be appreciated.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi tim:

Well I', not sure how the DRL's work in on those van in canada. down there the drl's are the amber parking light on the front. They do have auto head lamps that run the lo beams when the ambient lamp is low enough. You caound have a lamp control module that is bad but the head lamp switch should over ride that module for a safety reasons. I roul unplug the head lamp bulbs and see for sure if in deed you have no power to the lo beans use a 12 volt test lamp and see what happens. You may have to do a google search for the head lamp diagarm for that van with canadian option and see where you loosing the power to the bulbs. If you have power and ground there and they don't work then you have 2 bad bulbs. good luck :)
