Pontiac Repair: 91 Bonneville electric window, silicone spray, circuit breakers

Question
The front electric windows on my 91 Bonneville go up and down very slow and then stop even when I help it by hand.  (The back windows are ok.) This has gradually gotten worse to the point that now the motor will stop after a few couple of seconds.  I have to wait a minute then I can try again (helping it with my hand).  I have tried to spray oil on the tracks, but it didn't seem to help.  Do these motors get weak over time or is there another problem?

Answer
Hi Gary.
It's a combination of things. The run channels get gummed up that is what the glass slides up and down in in the door forward and aft of the glass. Pure silicone spray works great and it really isn't sticky so the dirt will not build up on it over time like some libricants do. More then liley the window regulatiors are either worn out or the pivots are tusted out and the motor is working harder then it has to and the circuit breakers are tripping inside tyhe motors. I would suggest replacing the motor and regulator together if you do the regulator with out the motor it's only a matter of time before the motor quits altogether. Good luck :)
