Question
Hi, I have a 2000 pontiac trans am ; one morning I start the car and drove about 7 miles than I stop for about an hour, when I try to start the car again it didn't start; I check battery, starter, alternator, relays, fuses, olso check for loose wires, can't find anyting wrong; lights on dash come on, some stay lid, some goes out,  security light blinks all the time the ignition switch is open; I have the LS1 with automatic transmission, Thanks for Your help Daniel.

Answer
Hi there:

you answered your own question here Daniel. The issue is with the security system. I'll assume when you say it will not start it will not crank right? If so it's a good chance the wires going to the ignition lock cylinder broke inside the column OR the chip in the ignition key is bad. did you try the second key to see if it starts that way? If indeed the wires broke off the ignition lock cylinder then this is not a job for the do it your selfer the column need to be disassembled and the air bag is in the steering wheel so This is not a job to do your self. Good luck :)
