Pontiac Repair: Warning Lights, pontiac sunfire, auto parts stores

I have this pontiac sunfire 1998 4dr sedan that the seatbelt and airbag warning indicator always lit on Then after a couple of days, the handbrake warning indicator always lit on too. What might be the problem in here? thanks

Hi there:
well you have 1 or 2 things going on.The IPC/SIR/ABS etc are all tied togther all the modules on these cars all talk to each other if one module goes down it take them all out and if one of the modules goes bad it will effect the other ones down the line. A likely cantidate is the air bag module. if the car has a water leak in it the air bag module is located under the carpet under the passenger seat (FRONT) so if that get water it it it can cause all kinds of warning lamps to go on and off. feel around the carpet and see if it feels wet if so you found the issue. This is NOT A DO IT YOUR SELF JOB. anything air bag related is a job for a trained technician. Of cousrse there could be other things going on here as well. stop by one of the big boxc auto parts stores and see if they can scan the car for codes and see what is stored in what modules.. Problem is with these systems if one of the modules goes down you will not be able to get codes out of any of them. Good luck :)
