Pontiac Repair: 98 pontiac bonneville, pontiac bonneville, obd2

i got a 1998 pontiac bonneiville sse 3800 motor from a friend, the check engine light was on so we went to 2 diffrent garages, and the checked it with the obd2, and said that number 1 cyclnder is misfireing changed plugs and wires, but the coil is getting good spark, it runs a little rough and wont idle sometimes, any suggestions?

well You covers the verys basic things. It could be a fuel injector problem. the injectors are easy enoughto swap on this engine take the fule rail out and swap #1 and #3 injectors and see if the misfire follows the #1 injector to the #3 cylinder if it does your found the problem. If not then check for mechanical things compression both static and a running compression teste just compait the #1's to another cylinder on the front that is easy to get to #1 should not be more the 10% less then the other cylinder you compaired it to.
