QUESTION: Hitting rev limit at 2500rpm,   rough idle,  dies when coming to stop

ANSWER: Hi Dan:
what engine is in this 3.4 Dual over head cam engine or 3.1 standard engine? does it run up against the rev limiter on a cold start? Has the battery gone dead recently before this happened or did you replace the battery?

I would look for a vacuum leak first and foremost. with the engine warm. take the pastic over off the top that says 3.4 dual over head cam and with the engine running spray carb celaer around the intake manifold. If the engine sppeds up or starts to stumble you have a vacuum leak and that is causing your issue. more then likley the lower intake manifold gasket it leaking. good luck :)
