The fan quit working completely for the heater what do I need to check to find out problem on my 1992 Pontiac Sunbird? It worked last year but not that great. Thankyou,

On those old cars usually it's a fan motor that goes bad or a bad connection at the motor. you need a 12 volt test light and turn the key to on and turn the fan to HI. then test across the 2 wires for the fan the purple one is the power and the black one is athe ground with the fan on hi the light should light bright across the 2 wires and as the fan sppeds are decreased the light should get dimmer. If it does that the motor is bad. If not then you have an issue with the resistor in the heater box that controls the speeds outside the car or the heater switch inside the car. Or even a blown fuse. good luck :)
