Pontiac Repair: 2005 vibe, toyota corola, exact same thing

When looking for an alternator I am coming up with two different engine possibilities for my Vibe. One is an 8 1.8L and the other is an L 1.8L.  How can I tell if I have the 8 or the L. the alternator is not the some for both?

Hi Thomas:

Look at the VIN # for the car the 8'th digit is the engine designation on EVRY car. then you will see what you have. Yes they are different engines one is high output and one is the basic engine. A Toyota Corola Matrix is the exact same thing so if no one has a listing for a Vibe look that way.
