Pontiac Repair: Torque Converter Clutch, torque converter clutch, grand prix 3

Question
My TCC appears to be slipping in my 2002 Grand Prix 3.8  Engagement is normal, quick & solid  with no shudder or vibration.  Once under load (climbig a hill) the car pulsates and the tach starts to jump.  This will stop after disengagement.  Question:  Is there any history of this with this car?  Does the fluid play any roll in its operation?  Is this more likely an electical/solenoid issue or a mechanical one.

Answer
could be just the solenoid, but it would depend on how many miles you have on the car and what your maintenance history is.  If the fluid has never been changed and you have over 100,000 miles on it, that in itself could be your problem.  But flushing the fluid at this point would be a waste of money.
