Answer
Hi Jerry:

well it seems you did a pretty good job looking at things before you asked the question but here are a few questions. do you have spark at the plugs when this happens or just at the coil? You said the TBI is spraying fuel but what is the fuel pressure? This could have an issue where there is not enough spark at the plugs for it to run or not enough fuel pressure for it to run. This could ahve an issue where the fuel pump looses volume/pressure when it gets hot. The most common issue with the old ones for a stall condition was in the distributor either an ignition module or pick up coil cutting out from the heat. when was the last time the fuel filer was replaced? it could be restricted and the pump performance is reduced. usually whith that is the filetr plugs up and the pump works to hard and overheats and either slows dow or cuts out all together. good luck :)
