Pontiac Repair: High Beams, high beams, low beams

My high beams don't work on my 2006 Pontiac Torrent. The low beams do work, but when I switch to high beams, mu headlights go out. What can I do?

did the Hi beams go out at the same time or did one go out and soon after thye other one go out? Or did they quit at the same time? If they quit at the same time I would suspect a switch in the steering column especially if the switch feels wierd. If one went out and then thye other I would jst suspect that the bulbs blew out one at a time. good luck :)
