Question
This morning I started my car to go to work and when I put it in gear, the doors didn't automatically lock like they usually do.  When I got out on the highway and tried to turn on my cruise control, it didn't work either.  Both of these features worked yesterday when I was driving, so is this a fuse problem?  Is my alternator or something else going out?  It seems strange that it all quit working at the same time.

Answer
Hi Chasity:
does this car have a sun roof? If so I would possibly suspect a water leak into the car causing some issues.. Is this a 2 or 4 door car? do the interior lamps stay on when the door are closed and or do they come on when the doors are opened? You could have a door switch or jam switch issue going on here. do the power locks work with the switches and or the remote if you have one? As for the cruise it could be caused my a lot of things some engine trouble codes will disable the cruise control. It may not be on yet but it may the next drive cycle or 2. The may have diabled the cruise but not turned on the lamp yet. I would have the car scanned for codes most of the big box car parts stores will do it for free see what codes if any are stored and go from there. Good luck :)
