Pontiac Repair: over hearting, resivoir, bleeder valve

lower rad hose came off replaced clamp then replaced antifreeze in rad and resivoir and with in 2-3 min. of idle it over heats very fast

first off what model and year car is this? did you overheat it when this happened or did you realize that that happened and shut the car off? if it was overheated real bad you could have cause some damage. it may just be a case of the cooling system is bound up with air. depending the the model and year car their may bee a bleeder valve you can open to expell the air in the system while you fillit up and while it running..
