Pontiac Repair: door chime, front doors, scan tool

QUESTION: The door chime is stuck on. It goes on and off when i turn a corner. or break. But other than that it is stuck on. What is the remedy

Hi Darin:

without a scan tool to looks at body function control module data it's a guessing game as to which door the problem is in. this car doesn'r have the old fasion door jam switches. the jam switches are build into the door latches. your going to have to take the inside door panels off one at a time and unplug each latch untill you find the one that is causing you the problem. I would venture to say it's going to be one of the front doors being that they are opened and closed more often. it's a process of elimination. On the doo latches there are 2 plugs unlug the one that has more the 2 wires on it. the 2 wire one is just for the door lock motor the connetor that has more wires in it is for the jam switch and illuminated entry if the car is equipped with that option.. good luck :)
