Hi Todd,my engine size is 3.8, 6 cylinder and my service engine soon light has been on for about a week now, I just noticed today that my car will accelerate on its own and sometimes is harder to slow down. Also I had issues with it starting, it will turn over but not start, i noticed if i give it gas it will start but still issues with running smoothly. Also it seems to be idling a lot quicker. Any ideas of what this could be?

if the engine is running faster then normal then I would suspect a vacuum leak at the engine or an issue with the idle control motor. either of these issuew will cause the service engine soon lmap to come on. I would suggest you get the engine computer scanned for codes most of the big box auto parts store will do it for free once you see what the code is you can go from there as to what the pronlem may be. good luck :)
