Pontiac Repair: 1996 sunfire gt, sunfire gt, rd gear

I have a 1996 sunfire gt it will shift into 1st and 2nd fine but will not shift into 3rd until i am at high rpms but will not do it when i am at low rpms i changed the fluids and that didnt help i am at a loss do u have any ideas?

I'm not a transmission guy as my profile stses but I'l try to help you out.. The transmission in your car is an electric shift transmission. so there could Many reason's it will not shift propely my first though is you have a issue with the valve body in the trasnsission and it will not shift into 3'rd. is any service engine soon lmap on? If so then what ever is turning the lamp on my be the issue with the up shift problem. it could just plain be worn out and 3'rd gear is burnt up. was the fluyid really dirty and a bunch of junk in the pan? what ever it may be it's not going to be a simple fix and also what ever is it 'ts goijn g to have to come apart to see what the issue is and it's going to get expensive to repair.
