what would make both flashers not work.

Both flashers meaning both sides of the car or bith flashers meaning 4 way and turn signal?
If the 4 way flashers work but not the turn I would say you have a t/s flasher issue. Walk around the car with the 4 ways on and make sure all the bulbs are working. if bith the 4 way and turn siganls do not work the only common thread would be the turn sigan lswitch in the steering column.
