Pontiac Repair: 2000 GTP wont start suddenly, shaft position, hey jim

Question
I have a 2000 GTP 3.8 supercharged and I took my son to school this morning car run great always has and when I was to pick him up she wouldn't start.Turns over and cranks and cranks but just won't start. I smell no gas and I tries to flood it out so I thought I should have and I attempted the method they tell you to do incase of flooding nothing worked. I Checked to make sure I was getting gas to the fuel filter and out of the fuel filter and there is gas getting to the motor. I noticed that there is a fuel pump fuse is it possible that that is it or is it the fuel pump? The car never ran rough or stalled or anything so I am lost. PLEASE HELP

Answer
Hey Jim:

If it has fule pressure and you smell gas then more then like it's not a fuel pressure issue. It's probably missing spark. you can take the plug wires off the coils and crank over the engine and you should see spark jumping across the coil towers. If not then it's either a ignition module or a crand shaft position sensor that is bad. Good luck :)
